Bruce Bradley’s “Oberon’s Gold” in Production
Aria Pictures and BRECKPORT Media Solutions have teamed up to bring Bruce Bradley’s Oberon’s Gold to life for the Nevada County TV’s first Annual 2014 “Here In Nevada County“, “Foothill Films” Screenplay Contest that will Premiere at the Del Oro Theater, in Grass Valley, California on October 4, 2014, October 6th, 6:00 pm.
Historical Fiction
Bruce wrote a great story about the 1860s in Northern California and has squished it down to 10 pages to make a 10-minute movie; some of the information is historically accurate, and the other is a fantasy, adventure, and action with bits of comedic relief for fun.
Synopsis / Story
Simon Oberon, a mysterious man, entertains dining guests by singing, playing his mandolin, and reading poetry at the National Hotel. He does not ask for a payment, but many of the diners drop a coin or two into his purse as he wonders the dining room.
Two inept highwaymen, Winker and Kinney, have followed Oberon into town because they feel he interrupted a heist of theirs in progress. After seeing all the coins Oberon has been given, the two decide to jump him along the train when he leaves the restaurant one evening.
Unbeknownst to Winker and Kinney, Oberon is not who he seems to be; their mistake could be their demise.
Locations
The restaurant scene is to take place at the historic NATIONAL HOTEL in Nevada City, California. And the forest scenes may be held at the Brooks Residence.
