MICHAEL ROBERT OAK comes back home after thirty years when he left in a bad way.  His father, RICHARD JAMES OAK owner of Double Oak Winery, a reputable vineyard and winery, is not happy to see Michael, but when Michael surprises Richard with a granddaughter, CHARDONNAY SYRAH OAK a twelve year old well mannered spitfire, Richard asks them to stay.

Michael, Richard, and Char become close as the days go by, but when TERESA MARIE OAK the estranged wife of Michael, shows up with JESSE KREGER, a hunk of a sleaze bag, the fire ignites.

Michael’s past is coming back into his life in the form of DARREL, OFFICER MARTIN, and MAUREEN JOSEPH, two of his best friends and one of his girlfriends. Michael welcomes them with open arms.

Michael’s is here from New York to achieve his goal, but his dad, Teresa, and Jesse, are the obstacle, Chardonnay is the reason, his deteriorating health and the short amount of time he has to live is his motivation.

Michael is unwilling and afraid to tell Teresa and Chardonnay that he’s dying. His hope is that he will have plenty of time, but the spiritual world that surrounds the winery and the inoperable disease he carries shortens that hope.

On Michael’s death bed, to the horror and dismay of Teresa and Chardonnay, Michael explains his strange behavior and the reason he brought Chardonnay out here to his father.
